Printing with Printix

Printix will be installed on your work computer, all you need to do is sign in and click the checkbox next to each printer you want to add. If you would like to print from home, you will need to download and install the printix app.


Signing into Printix

  1. Click the arrow next to the notification area on the task bar
  2. Click the Printix Client icon 
  3. Choose “Sign in with Microsoft” and enter your full Penn State email address ( 
  4. This will take you to the standard webaccess page, put your userID and password in, then do your duo prompt


Adding printers 

  1. Click the arrow next to the notification area on the task bar
  2. Click the Printix Client icon   
  3. Printix Client menu appears as pictured below
  4. Click Printers
  5. You can do a search to find the printers you wish to install  
    (*tip when searching for printers start with your office name and verify building location/room number as shown in the example)
  6. When you find the printer that you wish to add  
  7. Click on that printer and click “add 
  8. After installation the printers are listed as either Installed or with Error (installation failed) 
  9. Click Finish
  10. Repeat the steps above to add more printers


Downloading Printix at home

  1. Open a web browser and enter:
  2. Click Download Printix Client
    1. IMPORTANT: Do NOT rename the file, as it will prevent it from working with your Printix Home
  3. Click CLIENT_{}_{id}.EXE to start the installation
    1. A User Account Control dialog may appear asking you if you want to allow the Printix Client Setup program to make changes on this computer. Click Yes
  4. Change setup language if required. Click OK
  5. The Setup – Printix Client wizard appears. Click Next
  6. Click Install. The installation begins
  7. The installation completes. Click Finish
  8. Sign into Printix and add printers as above
